An operation by the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force has resulted in seven people being arrested on charges of either furnishing tobacco to a minor or furnishing alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year old Amar Kumar of Rome sold a vape product containing nicotine and alcohol to a person under the age of 21 at the Chevron at 507 Turner McCall Boulevard.
28-year old Simranl Patel of Rome sold alcohol to a minor at Party Time Beverage at 2797 Martha Berry Highway.
47-year-old Rahul Patel of Rome sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 at the Armuchee Quick Stop at 2773 Martha Berrt Highway. Meanwhile, 41-year-old Joseph Lee Alexander Costlow, also of Rome, is accused of providing his identification for the minor to purchase the alcohol.
35-year old Tyeesha Shyan Haywood of Rome sold a nicotine vape pen to an underage person at Cloud 9, located at 331 Broad Street.
19-year-old Mohit Mohit sold a vape product containing nicotine to a person under 21 at the Stop N Go at 400A Calhoun Avenue.
50-year old Sulemon Shamsuddin of Atlanta old a nicotine vape product to a minor at the Hop N Shop at 301 Calhoun Avenue.
All of the charges are misdemeanors.
