Services will be held this Saturday for former Georgia State Senator Richard Marable, who passed away on Friday.
Marable, a Rome native, was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 1990, where he faithfully served for 12 years. He also owned and operated the Balloon Factory with his wife, Kathie. One of his most notable accomplishments was teaching swimming lessons for the past 49 years.
He also worked in the Rome City and Floyd County School Systems, teaching and coaching for 30 years.
A receiving of friends and celebration of life will be held at Oak Hill Church of Christ this Saturday. The receiving of friends will be held from 1-3 PM, with the celebration of life following.
