Report: Woman pulled gun on husband during argument

Over the weekend, a Calhoun man was arrested after he allegedly bit his wife’s ear during an altercation on Carpenter Road. Now, the wife has also been arrested.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

60-year old Carolyn Marie Smith went to her bedroom and pulled out a pistol, pointing it at her husband.

Smith also bit the man on the arm.

She is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

62-year old Bruce David Smith, who was arrested early Sunday on an aggravated battery charge, has since been released on bond.

Woman accused of starving two dogs

An Adairsville woman was arrested Tuesday at her Red Maple Way residence on two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to the arrest warrants:

37-year old Winona Cherie Agan failed to provide adequate food and water for two dogs, resulting in severe emaciation at a residence on Edgefield Drive in Silver Creek.

Warrant: Woman presented altered medical notes at school

A Rosemont Park woman is facing 10 counts of felony 1st-degree forgery following her arrest on Tuesday.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

28-year old Brenda Kimberly Ann Dawson altered multiple medical notes, which were then presented at Pepperell Primary School with the intent to deceive the administration regarding truancy issues.

The incidents occurred between August of last year and January of this year.

Warrants: Man stole catalytic converters in the Armuchee area

A Summerville man has been charged in the thefts of car parts in the Armuchee area dating back to February of 2022.

According to the arrest warrants:

27-year old Jacob Eric Reynolds stole two catalytic converters, valued at approximately $2,000, from a location on Selman Road.

He also took catalytic converters, valued at $700 and $500, from vehicles on Martha Berry Highway.

Reynolds is charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of theft by taking parts from a motor vehicle.

Atlanta man charged with forgery in Floyd County

An Atlanta man has been returned to Floyd County to face local charges.

According to an arrest warrant:

49-year old Joseph Ferrigno presented the identification of another person to withdraw $400 from a bank on Shorter Avenue in October of last year.

It was also discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Indiana.

Ferrigno is charged with 1st-degree forgery and fugitive from justice.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop for a window tint violation on Sunset Drive ended with the arrest of a North Rome man on drug charges on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year old Adairus Malik Orr was found with less than an ounce of marijuana and an undisclosed controlled substance.

Orr is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and driving without a license.
