Early voting for a special election to fill the vacancy for Post 4 on the Floyd County Commission began Monday morning.

Registered voters can cast ballots at the Election Center at 18 East 12th Street from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays until March 14.

There will be Saturday voting on March 1 and March 8 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday voting on March 9 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Election Day is March 18.

If necessary, a runoff will be on April 15.

The candidates are Shonna Bailey, Chip Hood, Tonya Eden Shepard, David Thornton, and Corey Townsend.
