Cave Spring man accused of burglarizing watercraft

An arrest has been made in connection with the burglary of a watercraft on David Drive in Cave Spring that occurred back in December.

According to an arrest warrant:

39-year-old Christopher Adam Harper entered the watercraft which was contained in an unoccupied structure.

He took a gas-powered generator, multiple fishing poles, and other fishing equipment.

When asked why he was carrying the stolen items, Harper said he had been kicked out of the residence and he was taking his property with him.

Harper also had an adjustable wrench, pliers, and bolt cutters in the basket of a bicycle he was riding.

He is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, false statements and writing, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a probation violation.

Rome man charged with burglary

A Rome man is accused of forcing his way into a home on Morrison Campground Road on Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

52-year-old Christopher Shane Meers was using vulgar and profane language and left marks on the door.

A child was in the home at the time.

Meers is charged with 1st-degree burglary, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, criminal trespass, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.
