Woman accused of DUI with child in vehicle

The driver of a vehicle that was pulled over on North Broad Street for failing to maintain a lane, improper lane change, and a window tint violation, is also facing drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

33-year-old Uniqua Shun’Tae Winston of Rome was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and possibly Dilaudid with a 1-year-old child in the vehicle.

A pill bottle containing the powerful painkiller was located.

Winston is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, DUI, and endangering a child by DUI. 

Chattooga County man charged with forgery, theft by deception

A 27-year-old Trion man has been arrested on two felony counts of 1st-degree forgery and a single misdemeanor count of theft by deception.

According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:

Malik Rayon Morris Baker used counterfeit $50 bills at the McDonald’s locations on Martha Berry Highway and Turner McCall Boulevard back on November 17.
