-Staff reports-
Area residents can safely get rid of outdated and unused medications this weekend while helping to prevent misuse of these drugs.
Floyd Against Drugs and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, will host a drug drop this Saturday at the Judicial Courthouse on North 5th Avenue.
You can bring prescription and over-the-counter medications to the drive-thru between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Sharps, like hypodermic needles, will not be accepted.
Meanwhile, Floyd County Police will be at the East Rome Walmart on Cartersville Highway during the same hours.
You can turn in unused medication for safe disposal there as well.
