Report: Woman tried to stab man early Thursday
A Rome woman is accused of assaulting a 71-year-old man at her residence on North Blanch Avenue early Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year-old Betty Jean Gardner Blue grabbed a knife to stab the victim, bit the victim’s arm, and destroyed a television.
Blue is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and criminal trespass-damage to property.
Man accused of strangling woman
A Silver Creek man was arrested Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
According to the warrant:
36-year-old Kellen Seth Burk grabbed a woman by the neck and started choking her.
He also threw the victim off the bed about three times and grabbed her by the hair, pulling some of it out.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at Burk’s Jake Whorton Road home.
He is additionally charged with battery and a probation violation.
