Arrests made in 2001 murder

Two arrests have been made in connection with the death of a Kingston man more than 24 years ago.

Marion Travis Silvers, who was 51 at the time, was shot and killed on March 10, 2001.

His body was discovered in the cab of his pickup truck in the parking lot of the Wendy’s off I-75 in Adairsville.

Gary Wayne Fowler and Mary Ruth Fowler, both 73 of Chatsworth, were booked into the Bartow County Jail late last week on murder charges.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation:

The GBI will continue the investigation. Once complete, the case file will be given to the Bartow County District Attorney Erle J. Newton III’s Office for prosecution.
