A man from Gibsonton, Florida, has been arrested in connection with a police pursuit in the area of Highway 53 and Hermitage Road in October of 2023.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

38-year old David Shane Paquette fled at speeds of more than 30 miles per hour over the speed limit, running red lights and stop signs, and crossing into oncoming traffic.

He then fled on foot from two officers.

It was discovered that the vehicle had a stolen tag.

Paquette is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, speeding, four counts of failure to obey a traffic control device, three stop sign violations, driving without a license, unregistered vehicle, acquiring a license plate to misrepresent the identity of a vehicle, unregistered vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor obstruction, theft by receiving stolen property, and fugitive from justice.

He is also being held for Michigan State Police on unspecified charges.
