Woman accused of making threats
A Rome woman was jailed Wednesday on charges of terroristic threats and acts following an incident on Maple Road in Lindale.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Rachel Faye Garrett threatened to shoot a woman in the face.
She then threatened to assassinate a police officer and stated she would beat the officer once at the jail, resulting in two additional charges of terroristic threats and acts.
Woman charged with financial transaction card fraud, exploitation of the elderly
A Rome woman is accused of illegally using a 66-year-old Euharlee woman’s Mastercard to purchase food for the operation of a restaurant.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
53-year old Consuelo Alvarez purchased $1,888.55 in food for the First Brazilian Restaurant on Dean Avenue without the card holder’s permission back in November of 2023.
She also used the victim’s account information to pay a $1,000 power bill.
Alvarez is charged with two counts of financial transaction card fraud and a single count of exploitation of the elderly.
Two charged with financial transaction card fraud
A Coosa man and a West Rome woman have been arrested on felony warrants charging them with financial transaction card fraud.
According to the warrants:
55-year old David Shannon Garrett and 36-year-old Frieda Denise Adams used a Rome woman’s credit or debit card without permission to illegally obtain goods at the East Rome Walmart on March 27.
Man accused of having cell phone while an inmate
A man from Cordele, Georgia, was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with possession of items prohibited for inmates.
According to the warrant:
31-year-old Chartavias Jaquon Doster, while an inmate at the Floyd County Prison, had a cell phone hidden at his work detail in November of 2021.
Data extraction and analysis of the device was conducted at the Georgia Department of Corrections Digital Forensics Unit in Forsyth.
It showed that Doster had used the phone on multiple occasions to communicate with people outside the prison.
