Man accused of assaulting delivery driver
A Coosa man was arrested at his Alabama Highway home Monday after allegedly assaulting a delivery driver.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
64-year-old Martin W. Duke threatened to shoot the driver if he tried to leave, holding him against his will.
Duke, who was in possession of a 9mm handgun, also threatened to shoot the tires of the delivery truck.
He is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and terroristic threats and acts.
Warrant: Woman assaulted another person with a baseball bat
A Garden Lakes woman is facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery following her arrest on Monday.
According to the arrest warrants:
41-year old Terra Alisha Smith repeatedly struck another person in the head with a baseball bat, causing a broken nose, numerous contusions, two black eyes, a laceration, and a concussion.
The incident occurred on April 1 at a residence on Williamson Street.
Man charged with aggravated assault, battery
A 41-year-old Rome man has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault, battery, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joshua Carl Jarvis entered the residence on Dublin Circle in an aggressive manner with a wrench of more than 12 inches.
He then used his hands to hit a woman, causing bruising and swelling.
Jarvis also assaulted a second victim by hitting them and slamming their head into the back of a couch.
All this happened while one of the victims was holding a 2-month-old child.
Villa Rica man charged with meth trafficking
A Villa Rica man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on methamphetamine trafficking charges following his arrest on Highway 411 at the loop.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year old Joseph Brandon Reynolds was found with a pound of suspected meth.
He is also charged with possession of meth and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.
Man charged with theft by deception, forgery
A Shannon man was jailed Monday on warrants charging him with felony 1st-degree forgery and misdemeanor theft by deception.
According to the warrants:
37-year old Daniel Joshua Lawrence forged a legal document on April 1.
He also sold his vehicle title at Title Max back in November and then sold that vehicle for $600 in December without settling the outstanding balance with the title pawn company.
Woman facing felony shoplifting charge
A 52-year-old homeless woman was jailed Monday on a felony theft by shoplifting charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Hilda Cachona was caught hiding more than $698 in merchandise in her pants pockets at TJ Maxx on Turner McCall Boulevard.
