Man charged with hijacking a vehicle, interference with custody

A Green Bay, Wisconsin man is accused of harboring a juvenile, bringing her to Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

19-year-old Aidyn Kasey Thomas Dyer also tried to hijack a UPS truck from the driver and was involved in a crash on Burnett Ferry Road, where he then left the scene.

Dyer is charged with hijacking a motor vehicle, interference with custody, hit-and-run, duty upon striking a fixture, giving a false name or date of birth, and failure to yield while turning left.

Man accused of majung threats via text messages

A homeless man has been arrested on a felony charge of terroristic threats and acts charge following an incident on April 3.

According to an arrest warrant:

25-year Justin Drew Crossan sent multiple text messages to a man, threatening to cut the man’s throat from ear to ear.

Crossan also threatened to jump the victim when he left the Floyd County Courthouse.

Felon accused of having firearms

A Rome man was arrested at his Berkshire Lane home Thursday on a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

49-year old Zachary Carter Blalock was found with three firearms on April 3.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A 46-year-old Rome man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Turner McCall Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by Marshain Dontai Hamilton was pulled over for a window tint violation and no insurance.

Psilocybin mushrooms, more than an ounce of marijuana and baggies were located.

Hamilton is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Man facing drug, traffic charges

An Armuchee man is facing drug charges and several traffic violations following his arrest on Highway 27 North at Old Summerville Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year old Sean Patrick Redwine was following too closely and failed to use a turn signal to merge into the other lane in front of another vehicle.

He was also clocked going more than 71 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.

An ounce of marijuana and several open containers of alcohol were located in Redwine’s vehicle.

He is charged with felony possession of marijuana, driving under the influence of multiple substances, failure to maintain a lane, speeding, improper lane change, and following too closely.
