New Rosedale Road (Highway 156) between Floyd Springs Road and Old Piney Road is open again following a wildfire Sunday.

Residents in the area were evacuated to the Floyd Springs Baptist Church with Armuchee Baptist Church on Big Texas Valley Road serving as an overflow location.

At around 2:30 p.m., Floyd County Emergency Management first reported that homes in the 600 block of New Rosedale Road were being evacuated due to the fast-spreading fire.

The was spreading toward Deason Road and Floyd Springs Road near the trucking company.
