Advance in-person voting for the March 18 special election to fill a vacancy on the Floyd County Commission continues.
Registered voters can cast ballots this weekend—on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the elections center at the health department on East 12th Street.
Early voting will continue on weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. until March 14.
There will be another round of weekend voting on Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 9, from 1 p.m. until 5.
So far, early voting has been light, with 80 voting on Monday and 91 on Tuesday. We don’t yet have the numbers for Wednesday and Thursday.
Election Day is March 18.
If necessary, a runoff will be on April 15.
The candidates are Shonna Bailey, Chip Hood, Tonya Eden Shepard, David Thornton, and Corey Townsend.
