2025 is shaping up to be a big year with plenty to do in Downtown Rome.

New Rome Downtown Development Authority Director Suzanne Roberts recently gave us a preview.

“Samantha Spangler, our events and marketing director, who is fantastic, has created an entire lineup for the whole year,” Roberts said. “Starting on April 19, we will have the loft tours. So, if anybody is interested in those, you can call or get a ticket from here. Or, if anybody has a downtown loft they would like for everybody to see, they can just call and let us know.

“On May 3, we have RoFlo Fest, which is always great and is in the middle of downtown,” Roberts continued. “Then, we have First Fridays starting in June,and they go through September. October 18 is Fiddlin’ Fest, and October 31 is the downtown trick-or-treat, which is always one of my favorites. On December 4, we have Rome for the Holidays.”

According to Roberts, new technology is able to show us how popular Downtown Rome is.

“Over the last six months, we have had 1.4 million visits to Downtown Rome,” she said. “So, it is a thriving downtown, it’s a great downtown, and we hope everyone comes to visit, but like I said, we had over 1.4 million and then over 300,000 visitors in those six months.”

The average visit time to downtown during that time was 70 minutes.
