Minor injuries reported in Sunday crash

Two people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon at the intersection of East 12th Street and East Second Avenue.

According to Rome Police:

A 2020 Audi Q5 driven by a 49-year-old Rome woman left from the stop sign and was struck by a 2008 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 23-year-old Rome woman.

The Tucson was unable to stop after the initial collision and struck a 2008 Mercedes S-Class driven by a 64-year-old Rome man.

All three drivers sustained minor injuries with the drivers of the Tucson and the Mercedes being transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Audi was cited for a stop sign violation.

The wreck occurred Sunday at around 1:45 p.m.
