Report: Lindale man punched teen

A Lindale man has been arrested on charges of 1st and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

According to the arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Michael Cortez Kent punched a 17-year-old, causing swelling and bruising to the victim’s left cheek.

The incident, which occurred Sunday at Kent’s East Second Street home,  was witnessed by a 13-year-old.

Man facing charges following altercation

A 32-year-old Armuchee-area man is facing charges following an argument on Sunday at his Green Acre Road home.

According to the arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Christopher Chase Payne took a woman’s cell phone and struck the back window of a vehicle where two children were sitting.

He also struck the wall of the carport, causing less than $500 in damage to the siding.

Payne is charged with 2nd-degree cruelty to children, criminal trespass involving damage to property, and obstructing a person from making a 911 call.

Man charged with terroristic threats

A Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with terroristic threats and acts.

According to the warrant:

34-year-old Tyler Norton Timbrook was caught on video threatening to beat up the victim.

He is also heard saying “I’ll shoot you up.”

The incident occurred on January 23 at a location on Bollen Court.
