The Floyd County Commission is expected to make appointments to the elections board when they meet Tuesday.

The terms of Corey Townsend, Gary Stamper, and chair Jerry Lee are ending in December.

Commissioners are also expected to award a contract of nearly $5.3 million to UWS, Inc. for the Texas Valley Water Extension Project, which is being funded by American Rescue Plan and 2017 special purpose, local option sales tax funds.

Also on the agenda is a contract to ASA Fire Protection to update the fire sprinkler system at the future Floyd County Police headquarters in the former Glenwood School building.

The commission will also vote on the purchase and installation of a Batter’s Eye at AdventHealth Stadium.

A Batter’s Eye is the dark-colored wall in center field which helps the batter see the ball.

Tuesday’s commission meeting begins at 6 p.m. with the caucus at 4 p.m.
