Staff reports

Two people were transported to the hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries following a wreck involving three vehicles and a Floyd County school bus Monday morning near Coosa High School.

None of the students on the bus were injured.

According to Floyd County Police, the bus was stopped in the outside westbound lane on Alabama Highway.

A vehicle that had stopped for the bus was rear ended by a second vehicle, which then veered off, making contact with the school bus and then a third vehicle.

The drivers of the first two vehicles were taken to the hospital to get checked out for head injuries.

The bus sustained minor damage to the front bumper.

The driver of the second vehicle told police he was blinded by the sun and did not see the first vehicle.

No citations were issued.

The wreck occurred at around 7:30 a.m. and tied up traffic in the area for less than an hour.
