A man and woman from Kingston are charged with felony possession of meth.

According to Floyd County jail records, 30-year old Kyle Erwin Skinner and 31-year old Cindy Marie Cantu were arrested at Dollar General on Highway 293 after a traffic stop.

Cantu gave a false name during the stop which led the arresting officer to search the vehicle. Meth, syringes and a pipe were all found; leading to the pair’s arrest.

Cantu is charged with misdemeanor false name and date of birth, while Skinner is charged with open container in a vehicle, and seatbelt use, both misdemeanors. Both are charged with misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects.  


A 50-year-old Rome woman is charged with felony credit card theft and fraud.

According to Floyd County jail records, Glenda Michelle Dixon of a Heritage Way address was arrested Sunday night after she stole and withheld a debit card from the victim.

She also stole 26 Oxycodone pills valued at $130.

She is also charged with theft by taking for the Oxycodone Pills.


A 47-year-old Calhoun man is charged with felony obstruction of law enforcement.

According to Floyd County jail records, Jackie Levon Smith was arrested Monday afternoon after shoplifting a reported $168.54 in soft drinks from Walmart on Redmond Circle. While fleeing the scene, Smith struck a Rome police officer with a closed fist, causing the officer minor injuries.

Smith is also charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass, as an active restricting notice from the Walmart was filed against him in April of 2018.
