Report: Copper pipe stolen from the Rome Community Kitchen

Rome Police are investigating the theft of copper pipe from the air conditioning units behind the Rome Community Kitchen building on Calhoun Avenue.

According to police reports, the air units had a metal cage around them and were locked with a padlock.

The metal latch was cut away, allowing access to the copper pipe, which was about 6-foot in length and was valued at around $50.

The estimated cost of repairs is around $500.

The theft is believed to have occurred sometime in the last month.
